Bolat and his wife Gulmira moved to Astana from Kostanay twenty years ago. Their home is always full of relatives from the village, and Bolat's nephew Arman, who speaks English, helps us welcome guests.
Message the hostThe family's story
Arman is Bolat's nephew and the first in our family to study abroad. He always said that when he married, he wanted friends from other countries to see a real Kazakh wedding. It is cold in December in Astana, but inside the hall it will be very warm — about 400 guests, a great asaba and a lot of dancing.

About this tradition
Үйлену той / Келін түсіру, Беташар
The wedding toi (also called kelin tusiru, "bringing in the bride") is when the bride is welcomed into the groom's family. Its heart is Betashar, "opening the face", a poetic introduction of the new daughter-in-law to her husband's relatives.
